This “chat” (really an interview) is from 2008 and is one of the better ones found on the interwebs with Helen Levitt. Reading the whole thing felt very personal and touching. Highly suggest reading the whole thing, as well as the critique of the different versions of her book. That is if you are in to that sort of thing. Helen Levitt, a major photographer of the 20th century who caught fleeting moments of surpassing lyricism, mystery and quiet drama on the streets of her native New York, died in her sleep at her home in Manhattan on Sunday. She was 95.
